Steve Mounié, a Promising Beninese Football Star


Steve Mounié is a Beninese international footballer who holds the position of striker in the French first division club Montpellier. Born on 29 September 1994 in Parakou, he arrived in France in 1998 and more precisely in Perpignan where he made his debut in football. At the age of 14,  he is spotted by the HSC Montpellier and integrated during the 2009-2010 season. The young Parakou native signed  his first contract as a professional in 2014 while he was playing with the CFA. During the 2015-2016 season, Steve Mounié is hired to the Nîmes Olympique, club of league 2, by his club Montpellier. He ended top scorer of his host club and is therefore solicited by it’s owner.

The Beninese footballer currently has a very good season with 8 goals on his record. This has earned him a place in the top 10 African scorers in the European championships: France, England, Spain, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Netherlands, Turkey and a novelty this season, the Belgian championship.
